ICYMI: August 8, 2025
It's been a busy week at 70% Complete headquarters and I'm looking forward to the weekend now. I've been really surprised by all the good stuff I've been playing lately and it's been one of those weeks where I'm so excited to get into so many different things. Artis Impact is a beautiful JRPG that came out on August 7 that definitely deserves a look. Ambrosia Sky is a tender 'cleaner' game with so much more offer. Atomic Heart is...well. Yeah. Maybe I'm not super excited to get back into this one.
There's also some podcast updates this week! Episode 042 of the 70% Complete Podcast is out now and features over an hour of Runescape patch notes (and it's actually good!), and, as usual, there's five great episodes of Point to Point! Some of these are my favorite ones to date, actually.

Let's Try! Artis Impact
Artis Impact is a JRPG game that is an animation bonanza that has wowed me at almost every moment. One second it's a top-down RPG, another it looks like manga, and a third moment you're pulling off some sick sword tricks in Final Fantasy-style battles. You really need to check out Artis Impact.

Let's Try! Ambrosia Sky
I've been sitting on the demo for Ambrosia Sky for what feels like months now and I finally found some time to sit down and play it. And boy am I glad I did. Ambrosia Sky appears to be your typical 'clean-up' style game, but by the end of the demo, there's this wonderful, affecting moment that you need to see. I'm really looking forward to the full release later this year.

Atomic Heart, pt. 5
This recording didn't start off on the best foot to begin with, since I ended up losing the first hour of the session, but honestly, I don't think you missed much. I'm pretty sure this episode is either my last or second to last run at Atomic Heart because it's just not doing it for me anymore. This episode is still fun, so go check it out, but I've now gone from "is this a Bioshock clone?" to "I don't think they know what made Bioshock so great." More on that in a bit.
Podcasts
70% Complete Podcast
Every other week Phil and Logan get together to talk about video games, technology, Runescape lore, weird esoteric tidbits, and vintage 1940s lamps? It's a little bit of this, a little bit of that, but never more than 70% of anything.

Episode 042: Dirty, unclean herbs
In the ever-growing list of things we try out and think won't work and end up being an hour and a half podcast episode that is both fun and informative, we spent some time this week digging deep into an OSRS Patch Notes document all about Slayer. I also start some beef with a Youtuber who will remained nameless.
Point to Point
Point to Point is a mostly-daily chat show about games, the games industry, and trying to break into games media. Join Phil, one half of 70% Complete, on his daily commute through stop-and-go traffic for off-the-cuff chats about whatever is on his mind.
My take on Dead Take!
If you missed the article on the site last week, check out this episode about Dead Take to discover why I think calling your game a "horror escape room" is a bad idea.
Some back of house business
Hey! If you listened to this episode, you'd already know about this article format and maybe some upcoming ideas for the site and Youtube.
Nintendo wants some line go up too
This episode has some off-the-cuff chat about the Switch Lite and why Nintendo bumping its price up after nearly 8 years in service is actually why the kids only play Fortnite now.
Where are the video game chairs?
Man, I really love this episode. I'm probably one of like ten people who would rather look at a video game's chairs than its skyboxes, but I really wish there were more video game home goods.
There will never be another Bioshock
We end the week on an uplifting story about Bioshock, what makes it so good, and why there will never be another Bioshock. Cameo appearances from Prey (2017) and Atomic Heart.

Clean up Earth might be just what I crave
Here's a quick article about Clean Up Earth, a coop eco-game coming out later this year. Not much is known about it at this point, but check out the article to learn more.
