Seth is a roguelite booner-shooter

Games Oct 14, 2025

Seth is an upcoming first person shooter that asks the question on everyone's mind: What if Doom was a roguelite with Hades-style boons?

The answer is, unsurprisingly, "it'd be pretty good."

The game is still in beta, but the hour or so I spent playing was fun enough, which is only noteworthy because I'm awful at Quake-style arena shooters. I never made it to the first boss, but the Hades-style mechanics translate really well into first person and the boons created some early synergies that will get out of hand the further you make it into a run. The shooting is very much Quake or Doom, which may not work for everyone, but it felt pretty responsive to me.

The only real knock against the game right now is a ridiculous ask, but the gods you claim boons from do not radiate the raw sexual energy of Hades. Is that a bad thing? Only you can decide.

Do I recommend it? There currently is no release date, but Chaotic Games is updating their Steam page regularly. If an Egyptian mythology themed first person shooter sounds like your thing, go check out their Steam page and add it to your wishlist.

Seth is currently in Beta on PC with no current release date. This game was played on PC with beta access provided by the developer.
